Calculate your eDPI

Enter your in-game sensitivity and mouse DPI. The result updates instantly and stays in your browser.

Use the number shown in the game's settings, not eDPI.

Check your mouse software for the active DPI profile.

Enter your sensitivity and DPI to calculate eDPI.

How to calculate eDPI

eDPI stands for effective dots per inch. It combines your mouse DPI and your in-game sensitivity so you can compare two setups inside the same game without treating DPI and sensitivity as unrelated numbers.

eDPI = in-game sensitivity x mouse DPI

For example, 0.5 sensitivity at 800 DPI is 400 eDPI. A setup with 0.25 sensitivity at 1600 DPI also produces 400 eDPI. Inside one game, those two setups can produce the same rotational scaling.

  1. Find your in-game sensitivity. Open the game settings and copy the sensitivity number. Do not enter eDPI, cm/360 or a converted sensitivity from another game.
  2. Enter your mouse DPI. Use the DPI value in your mouse software. If you are not sure it is accurate, measure it with the DPI analyzer first.
  3. Read the eDPI result. The calculator multiplies sensitivity by DPI and shows the range band. The same eDPI is also converted to 400, 800 and 1600 DPI.
  4. Use it in the right context. eDPI is useful inside one game. For a game-to-game conversion, use the sensitivity converter because each game scales sensitivity differently.

eDPI, DPI and sensitivity: what is the difference?

DPI
The mouse-side count rate. It describes how many counts the mouse reports over one inch of physical movement.
Sensitivity
The in-game setting that scales the mouse input within that game. It is specific to the game and its current version.
eDPI
DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity. It is a per-game value, not a universal cross-game measurement.

If you are not sure of your DPI, measure your mouse DPI first. The eDPI result is only as accurate as the DPI value you enter. You can also read what mouse DPI means for the hardware side.

What is a good eDPI for Valorant?

Many Valorant players use roughly 200-400 eDPI, but a good eDPI is personal. The number that matters is the one you can control consistently. Treat the ranges below as a guide, not a rule.

  • Low: 0-400 eDPI. More precision per movement, with slower turns.
  • Medium: 400-800 eDPI. A balance between precision and turn speed.
  • High: 800+ eDPI. Faster turns, with less room for fine correction.

The table below shows how common Valorant sensitivities translate to eDPI at 800 DPI.

0.2160Low
0.3240Low
0.4320Low
0.5400Low
0.75600Medium

These examples are arithmetic, not recommended settings. Your mouse, mousepad, grip, FOV and role can all change what feels controllable.

Why eDPI is not a cross-game number

Different games can use different yaw values and sensitivity scales. A 400 eDPI setup in one game does not necessarily turn the same physical distance as a 400 eDPI setup in another. The missing variable is the game's rotation model.

Use eDPI for quick comparisons inside one game. For a physical cross-game measurement, use cm/360 and the sensitivity converter. Read eDPI explained for the measurement limits.

eDPI and DPI changes

If you change DPI and want to keep the same eDPI, change sensitivity in the opposite direction:

new sensitivity = eDPI / new DPI

This is a same-game scaling relationship. It does not replace a yaw-aware game-to-game conversion. If you are changing DPI as part of a move to another game, use the converter instead of copying the eDPI value.

FAQ

How do I calculate my Valorant eDPI?

Multiply your Valorant sensitivity by your mouse DPI. For example, 0.5 sensitivity at 800 DPI is an eDPI of 400. Enter both values above to calculate it instantly.

Is a higher eDPI better?

No. A higher eDPI turns faster and a lower eDPI gives more room for fine control. The best value is the one you can aim with consistently, not the highest or lowest number.

What is a good eDPI for Valorant?

Many players use roughly 200-400 eDPI, but this is guidance rather than a rule. Low, medium and high ranges describe a trade-off between precision and turn speed, not a ranking of players.

Why does my Valorant eDPI feel different in another game?

eDPI only compares cleanly within the same game. Different games use different yaw values and sensitivity scales, so the same eDPI can produce a different physical turn distance. Use the sensitivity converter for cross-game conversion

Does changing DPI change my eDPI?

Yes. If you double your DPI and halve your in-game sensitivity, your eDPI stays the same. That is why two players with different DPI settings can have the same effective sensitivity.

Can I use this eDPI calculator for Fortnite or other percentage-based games?

The formula is the same, but some games display sensitivity as a percentage. This calculator expects the number as shown by the game and does not convert a percentage scale for you, so check the game scale before multiplying.

How is eDPI different from cm/360?

eDPI combines DPI and in-game sensitivity into a per-game number. cm/360 is a physical distance and is the better measurement for comparing sensitivity between games when the games rotation data is known. Read how cm/360 is calculated
